All’s well with Sonam
Sonam Kapoor, who has been at the centre of many uncalled controversies in the past, is said to be going out of her way to make amends with the people she once had problems with. Having made peace with actor Ranbir Kapoor recently, where she said she secretly admired the actor’s work, she is now trying to settle her differences with her Mausam co-star Shahid Kapur, and director of the film Pankaj Kapur.“Though she didn’t have any personal problems with Shahid, there were constant reports of how she felt mistreated on the sets of Mausam,” says an industry insider, adding, “Since the film was being directed by Shahid’s dad Pankaj, she expected herself to be well taken care of. But the production hassles made sure that it wasn’t really a peaceful outing for Sonam.”
However, Sonam, the insider says now wants to put all that behind, and keep things smooth with the Kapurs. The young woman is not claiming to be “thick friends” with Shahid, but she says that she never had a problem with Shahid or his dad to begin with. “See, every film faces some or the other production hassles and there were a few hiccups in the making of Mausam as well. However, they were not as bad as they were made to sound,” says Sonam, who is now getting ready for the release of this romantic musical followed by action thriller Players.
While things seem to be all settled between the Kapurs and the Kapoor girl, the shooting of Mausam
didn’t look all rosy. There were various stories about how Sonam had to wait for hours on the sets before a call came for her shot. On the other hand, Pankaj was also reported to be not very pleased with the actress and even aborted the shoot a few times when Sonam came late. Also, there were instances when the young lady herself was said to have stormed off the sets when arrangements for the shoot weren’t proper.
Sonam, however, defends herself saying, “Trust me, there was never and there isn’t any problem between me and Pankaj as well as Shahid. We are absolutely cool with each other.” Guess this is what the change in mausam does to actors!
